Back to Europe

Hello everybody!

I'm getting prepared to leave this country. This is my last week at work... I've even got my performance review already.

My thesis is... on going. I've finished the English version and I've recently started the translation into Spanish. The problem is that I cannot write Spanish anymore! Actually, the last time I wrote in Spanish (with exception of little emails and short conversations in messenger) was in 2004! I'm just imaging the face of the professors in my university when they start reading the Spanish version... I'm very ashamed!

On Sunday I'll be leaving Hangzhou for good. I'm feeling a mix of sadness and happiness, as always that I'm leaving some place. However, this time the happy feeling is winning. Is not because I didn't like it here: actually I think it’s a very cool place, with very good job opportunities, interesting people, and a great language. I'm happy because leaving China means to me the start of a new stage in my life: start living with my boyfriend Martin, start a job, start living in a country for more than 12 months, buying a dog (!)... Again, a lot of new things, but this time these things are to be kept… at least for the medium-term (except my boyfriend, this guy I want to keep for the long-term). I’m even excited on getting bored!

Anyway, I’ll be taking 5 flights in the next two weeks. First to Beijing, where I’ll meet my very, very good friend Daniela (and her ma’). She is flying from Mexico!!! We will visit together Beijing for about 5 days. I will take the next round of flight after Beijing: four flights in a row!

Beijing > Shanghai > London > Madrid > Valencia

I guess when I finally arrive to my destination my legs will form the number four and I’ll never be able to walk again.

And in my world of fantasy I will be able to finish the translation of my thesis by end of July. Because in August everything is closed in Spain (gggrrrr!!!!!!) I will have to wait until September to defend my (bloody) thesis. Again in my world of happiness I’m able to run away to Stuttgart and stay there until September. When is the Wassen starting????

Take care you all and see you soon

Good Luck!

If you need help with the Spanish, just give a shout (I'm sure you'll find people that can help you with Spanish terms and so on in Valencia but, anyway, we're Spanish, so we have to help us :-)).

Regards from Amsterdam,

Paquito.
